SafeHarbor

⚓ SafeHarbor · Chicago

Safe in the field. Steady in the city.

SafeHarbor is a Chicago canvassing and field-operations company: trained crews, official petition sheets only, and a daily count a campaign manager can use. It also puts visible, licensed pedicab operators outside Chicago bars, restaurants and music venues.

What SafeHarbor is

Field operations

25 years of professional canvassing and field work: political, professional and business campaigns, and general outreach. Twenty-one of those years in the City of Chicago and Illinois.

Venue presence

Licensed pedicab operators stationed outside partner bars, restaurants and music venues: a short, visible ride home for guests and an extra set of eyes on the sidewalk. Hospitality and transportation, not licensed security.

Student crews

Crews are staffed with college students from Chicago campuses. Chicago has 69 colleges and career schools, and SafeHarbor aims to be on more than half of them (35 or more).

Who it serves

Mayoral, ward and aldermanic campaigns

Any campaign, any size. A full citywide race and a single-ward push get the same standard: trained walkers, clean sheets and a daily count.

Business campaigns and outreach

Field work for business campaigns and general community outreach that need real people on real blocks.

Bars, restaurants and venues

Partner venues that want a safe last stretch home for guests and a steady, recognizable presence at the door during peak hours.

Nonpartisan: SafeHarbor does not endorse and does not take sides. The voter decides; SafeHarbor gets them the chance.

How it works

Scope it together

The campaign or venue sets the goal, the neighborhoods, the dates and the turn-in schedule.

Brief and equip the crew

Crews take a short briefing, work only from official petition sheets and the campaign’s own script, and stay professional at every door.

Work the field

Door-to-door and campus outreach, petition circulation, voter contact, and sidewalk presence at partner venues, with permission.

Turn in and count

Sheets are turned in on the campaign’s schedule with a simple daily count. Problem sheets get pulled, not fixed in the field.

How crews work

What crews do

  • Door-to-door canvassing and campus outreach.
  • Petition circulation on official sheets only.
  • Voter contact for any campaign that hires them.
  • Daily turn-in, with a count a manager can use.

What crews never do

  • Sign for a voter, fill in an address, or “clean up” a sheet.
  • Pay signers, or offer a ride in exchange for a signature.
  • Circulate inside a venue without the manager’s yes.
  • Pose as campaign staff, city employees or security guards.
  • Give legal advice on ballot access or challenges.
